AVELOR SUMMARY
Panax notoginseng (NOT P. ginseng or American ginseng, different species with different chemistry) is used in Chinese medicine for cardiovascular conditions and bleeding. Contains unique saponins (notoginsenosides) that have dual action: they promote hemostasis (stop bleeding) AND are anti-thrombotic (prevent clots). This paradox is dose-dependent, low doses promote platelet aggregation, high doses inhibit it. Used in Yunnan Baiyao (Chinese hemostatic medicine). Key clinical data: reduced bleeding time by 40% in surgical patients. STRONG anticoagulant interaction.
