CJC-1295 is a tetrasubstituted form of human growth hormone releasing factor 1-29, the same 29 amino acid fragment as sermorelin, with four substitutions that resist breakdown by dipeptidyl peptidase-IV and an added maleimidopropionamide group on a C-terminal lysine. After subcutaneous injection that maleimide group forms a covalent bond with the free thiol on Cys34 of circulating serum albumin, which is what the "DAC" or drug affinity complex label refers to. Albumin bound, the peptide has a markedly extended plasma half-life and was still present in rat plasma beyond 72 hours (Jetté 2005). It then acts on GHRH receptors on anterior pituitary somatotrophs, raising growth hormone output.
The important physiological detail from the human work: CJC-1295 does not create bigger growth hormone pulses. Pulse frequency and pulse amplitude stayed the same, and the entire increase came from raising the trough between pulses, which is what drove the rise in IGF-1 (Ionescu 2006). That is a continuous stimulation pattern, not a restoration of youthful pulsatility, which is the opposite of how the compound is usually marketed.
Two different molecules are sold under this name. The one with published human pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data is the albumin-binding DAC version described above. "CJC-1295 without DAC" is modified GRF(1-29) without the albumin anchor, a short-acting molecule the endocrinology review literature describes as a separate agent, and it is not covered by the Teichman or Ionescu human trials (Dominikowski 2026).
No formal drug interaction study of CJC-1295 has ever been published. Every entry below is mechanism-based, derived from what sustained growth hormone and IGF-1 elevation is known to do and from adverse effects reported for this class of peptides in the review literature. Absence of an interaction from this table is not evidence of safety.
