Calcium AEP

Calcium AEP (also called calcium EAP or colamine phosphate) was promoted by Hans Nieper as an agent for multiple sclerosis and autoimmune conditions. The proposed rationale: 2-aminoethylphosphoric acid is a component of cell membrane phospholipids, and supplementation is said to 'seal' compromised cell membranes. The direct human literature located in PubMed is three clinical reports by Nieper published from 1966 to 1968, none of which carries an abstract in its PubMed record. No randomized, placebo-controlled trial of calcium AEP was located. Not evidence-based by modern standards. Still used in some integrative MS protocols.
